Jedoch gab es während des letzten Jahrzehnts Veränderungen im Energiemix des Bruttoinlandsenergieverbrauchs. Der Anteil der erneuerbaren Energien hat sich nahezu verdoppelt, von 5% am gesamten Bruttoinlandsenergieverbrauch im Jahr 1999 auf 9% im Jahr 2009, während sich der Anteil von Gas von 22% auf 24% erhöhte.
