In der technologieorientierten finnischen Gesellschaft mit einem hohen Forschungsstandard floriert der Cleantech-Markt und wird von der Regierung auch aktiv gefördert. Die Gebäudeenergieeffizienz bspw. findet auch in der Bevölkerung Anklang, z. B. in Niedrigenergiehäusern, die zudem mit Solarenergietechnik bestückt sind, oder in Hybridanlagen mit Geothermie und Wind.
