Solarbuzz rechnet vor, dass weltweiten 18,2 Gigawatt (GW) Photovoltaik-Leistung zugebaut wurde. 82 Milliarden US-Dollar soll gemäss dem Bericht "Marketbuzz 2011" die weltweite Photovoltaik-Branche letztes Jahr umgesetzt haben.
