Aktuell bieten verschiedene Lieferanten Ladestationen an, die auf unterschiedlichen Philosophien basieren in Bezug darauf, wie schnell und wo die Batterien von Elektrofahrzeugen und mit welchem Stecker zu welchen Kosten geladen werden sollen. Die Antworten auf Fragen zu diesen Aspekten sind zum Teil widersprüchlich und verwirrend. Die so verursachte Unsicherheit stellt potenziell eine grosse Hürde für die breite Markteinführung von Elektrofahrzeugen dar.
