04Renumita marca germana, Adidas, criticata in ultima vreme de ecologisti pentru impactul negativ al produselor sale asupra mediului, si-a propus sa utilizeze, in exclusivitate, bumbacul organic pentru fabricarea tuturor produselor sale, scrie „Le Figaro”.
Acest lucru a fost specificat si in planul de dezvoltare durabila al companiei, dat publicitatii de curand.
Astfel, Adidas intentioneaza sa-si reduca amprenta de carbon respectand programul „Better Cotton”, care prevede o exploatare mai responsabila a bumbacului, tinand cont de impactul asupra mediului prin utilizarea rationala a apei si a cantitatilor de pesticide folosite pe plantatii.
Planul de dezvoltare durabila pregatit de companie, care include folosirea in totalitate a bumbacului organic, are mai multe etape.
Prima prevede ca, in urmatorii 4 ani, orice articol Adidas sa aiba 40% bumbac bio, iar, pana in 2018, fabrica va folosi numai bumbac organic pentru toate produsele pe care le va scoate pe piata.
Programul „Better Cotton” a fost creat de mai multe asociatii de mediu, dintre care amintim WWF, sau de marci recunoscute pe plan mondial, cum ar fi H&M, Levi Strauss & Cie sau Marks & Spencer.
Acest program de protejare a culturilor de bumbac este deja este experimentat pe plantatii din Mali, Brazilia, india si Pakistan.
