Animalul masoara zece metri in lungime si cantareste 12 tone, sustin reprezentantii parcului national din zona.
Cadavrul este in descompunere, dar coada i s-a detasat, prin urmare nu poate fi remorcat spre largul oceanului.
In acelasi timp, mareea nu ajuta la indepartarea cadavrului, acesta fiind atat de greu.
Autoritatile se gandesc sa taie cadavrul in mai multe bucati, pentru a putea fi transportate de pe plaja.
Pana atunci, rechinii sunt atrasi spre plaja de sangele casalotului, care se scurge in mare. Din acest motiv, plaja situata la nord de Sydney a fost inchisa publicului, pentru a nu exista incidente.
