    In 2009, in Romania existau turbine eoliene cu o putere cumulata de 14,1 MW, iar in 2010 capacitatea totala a ajuns la 462 MW. Astfel, Romania s-a plasat pe pozitia a saptea in UE dupa cresterea de volum.

    “Exista contracte de racordare la reteaua de transport pentru 5.200 MW. Transelectrica, impreuna cu termocentrala de 800 MW pe care o construieste Petrom, pot sustine pana la 6.000 MW in turbine eoliene”, a declarat Ionel David, consultant pe probleme de relatii publice la AREE.

    Potrivit Transelectrica, la reteaua romaneasca de electricitate se mai pot conecta capacitati de pana la 3.500 MW in energie eoliana. Potentialul Romaniei in acest domeniu este de 14.000 MW instalati.
