12La centrala nucleara Fukushima, la reactorul numarul 1, a avut loc o explozie ce a eliberat un nor, care contine cesiu radioactiv, ce s-ar putea indrepta spre diverde zone ale globului, in functie de circulatia atmosferica, anunta CNN.
In momentul producerii exploziei a fost auzit un zgomot extrem de puternic, iar deasupra centralei s-a format un nor alb, relateaza si presa locala.
Nivelul de radioactivitate in zona este de 20 de ori mai mare decât cel normal, a precizat televiziunea japoneza NHK, adaugând ca mai multi angajati au fost raniti in urma incidentului, potrivit Mediafax.
Un purtator de cuvânt al companiei Tokyo Electric Power (TEPCO) a precizat insa ca procesul de fuziune nu a fost declansat, iar compania incearca sa obtina o crestere a nivelului apei pentru racirea reactorului numarul 1.
