19Google a anuntat ca investeste 100 de milioane de dolari intr-un nou proiect de energie verde – ferma eoliana Shepherds Flat Wind Farm, dezvoltata de Caithless Energy, care se construieste in Arlington, Ore.
Cand va fi finalizata in 2012, ferma Google va avea o putere instalata de 845 MW/ora. Energia produsa de Shepherds Flat Wind Farm va fi vanduta prin intermediul companiei Southern California Edison.
Google a anuntat la inceputul acestei luni ca investeste 168 de milioane de dolari intr-o centrala solara gigant care se construieste in Desertul Mojave.
Alaturi de Google, in proiectul Shepherds Flat investeste si General Electric. Gigantul industrial va furniza turbinele, precum si serviciile de mentenanta.
