19Companiile care vor sa isi cuantifice eforturile depuse pentru protejarea mediului mai au doua zile la dispozitie pentru a se inscrie in Green Business Index (GBI) 2011, anunta coordonatorul proiectului, Cristina Muresan. GBI este realizat de Asociatia Green Revolution, cu sprijinul Asociatiei Centru Ecologic Green Area, sub inaltul patronat al Ministerului Mediului si Padurilor.
Green Business Index, topul companiilor verzi, are o dubla functionalitate. Pe de o parte, ajuta companiile sa-si evalueze impactul asupra mediului si masurile luate pentru protectia mediului. Pe de alta parte, pentru publicul larg si pentru presa, este un instrument de monitorizare a preocuparii companiilor de a proteja mediul.
Grija companiilor fata de mediu si resursele naturale este atent masurata prin intermediul unui chestionar. Societatile se pot inscrie voluntar si gratuit in oricare dintre cele sapte categorii din GBI: dezvoltare sustenabila, impact asupra mediului, transport, utilizarea resurselor, cladiri verzi, achizitii verzi si deseuri.
Datele furnizate de companiile romanesti sunt colectate, procesate si centralizate intr-un clasament. In urma analizei efectuate de experti independenti rezulta „Topul 10” al celor mai responsabile firme. Ulterior se genereaza Raportul Green Business Index.
