17Localitatea Fântânele este subiectul unui articol despre energia eoliană, apărut ieri în publicaţia economică Financial Times.
„Un vânt rece suflă prin micul sat Fântânele din sud-estul României. Dar, departe de a fi ostili rafalelor iernii, locuitorii sunt recunoscători. Motivul este vizibil la orizont, unde zeci de turbine falnice se rotesc în vânt – o parte din prima etapă a unui parc eolian de 600 de megawaţi, cel mai mare proiect construit pe uscat din Europa“, scrie Chris Bryant de la FT, care s-a deplasat în această localitate, citat de Agerpres.
În unele părţi mai bogate ale Europei turbinele eoliene sunt adesea o „pacoste” nedorită, potrivit semnatarului articolului. Dar oamenii din Fântânele se vor lupta pentru construirea lor. În plus faţă de producerea de 2,5 MW de electricitate curată, fiecare dintre cele 120 de turbine instalate până acum la Fântânele de grupul energetic ceh CEZ generează un câştig anual de 3.000 de euro (4,175 dolari) pentru proprietarul terenului pe care se află.
