"Animalele nu trebuie sa sufere in numele frumusetii. Testarea cosmeticelor pe animale este o cruzime. Spuneti nu Cosmeticelor Cruzimii", a declarat legendarul muzician.
British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection a lansat campania "No Cruel Cosmetics" cerand ca legea care interzice comercializarea produselor testate pe animale sa nu mai fie tergiversata si sa intre in vigoare in 2013, asa cum fusese programata.
In ciuda faptului ca folosirea animalelor pentru testarea cosmeticelor si a articolelor de toaleta este interzisa in Marea Britanie si in Uniunea Europeana, companiile pot, in continuare, sa vanda in UE produse care au fost testate pe animale in alte state din lume.
Paul McCartney a format, alaturi de John Lennon, George Harrison si Ringo Starr, trupa The Beatles, una dintre cele mai faimoase formatii din istoria muzicii rock, avand la activ peste 1,1 miliarde de discuri vandute in lumea intreaga.
