12Ministrul Laszlo Borbely, aflat la New York, in calitate de presedinte al celei de a 19-a Sesiuni a Comisiei ONU pentru Dezvoltare Durabila (CSD19), a semnat ieri Protocolul aditional Nagoya-Kuala Lumpur la Protocolul de la Cartagena privind biosecuritatea, din cadrul Conventiei privind Diversitatea Biologica (CBD).
In octombrie 2010, dupa mai mult de sase ani de negocieri intense, partile la Protocolul privind Biosecuritatea au finalizat negocierea unui nou tratat cunoscut sub numele de „Protocolul suplimentar privind raspunderea si recursul la Protocolul de la Cartagena privind biosecuritatea Nagoya-Kuala Lumpur”.
Numit dupa cele doua orase in care au avut loc rundele finale de negocieri, noul tratat va stabili norme si proceduri internationale de raspundere si caile de atac in caz de deteriorare a diversitatii biologice care rezulta de la organismele vii modificate.
