April 27, Houston, TXIn regard to wind energy, Texas is the most important state in the U.S. and has been leading the American wind energy market with a cumulative installed wind energy capacity of 10,085 MW, which is more than twice the capacity of the next ranking state, Iowa (3,675 MW).While Texas just like the U.S. also experienced a slow first three quarters in 2010 with a total installation of 322.1 MW, the market is picking up again and another 350 MW are planned to be installed in the fourth quarter of 2010 alone.

The goal of the 3rd German American Wind Energy Conference 2011 is to explore the market potential for wind energy in Texas as well as identify challenges for an ongoing wind boom in Texas such as grid integration.
